Biography

Ibtisam Azem was born in Tayibe (Taybeh). She studied at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and later at Freiburg University in Germany, where she took an M.A. in German and English Literature, and Islamic Studies. She currently lives in New York where she is the senior correspondent for the Arabic daily al-Araby al-Jadeed.
